Jake Fishman was born on September 25, 1992. At the age of 13 he was inspired to start surfing by Brian Surrat, his surf teacher at the Sunset Surrat surf school. He says that he was sitting on the beach while watching him do maneuvers on his longboard. At that point he was motivated to pursue surfing. Jake would like to thank his Mom and Dad for always being there to support him. He would also like to make a shout out to Betty, his 1970 Volkswagen van for taking him to competitions and truly making him look like the stereotypical California Boy.
